On 1 November, an emergency occurred at 3 am along the gas transmission network of Bulgartransgaz EAD in the region of the village of Vetrino. A section of the old gas pipeline transporting gas to Romania has broken, whilst supply to Bulgaria is ensured. As of 3.15 am natural gas transport to Romania has been automatically cut off and as of 7 am supply in the direction Serbia-Hungary has been suspended. After 8 am transport to Romania has been partly restored.

Emergency groups of the company are on site, and the compromised section of the gas pipeline will be replaced as soon as possible. The Executive Director of Bulgartransgaz EAD, Mr Vladimir Malinov, is on his way to the place of the incident. Damages to the company are pecuniary, no one in the vicinity of the failure has been injured and no material damages have been inflicted on third parties.
