Bulgartransgaz EAD in its capacity of owner and operator of Chiren UGS announces a procedure for allocation of natural gas yearly integrated capacity units for commercial storage in Chiren UGS for gas year 2022-2023.
We would also like to inform you that Bulgartransgaz EAD in cooperation with the Regional Booking Platform operator (RBP) developed a new functionality, enabling Chiren UGS capacity allocation procedures to be carried out in an electronic environment. The use of an electronic platform allocating storage capacity in Chiren UGS for both integrated, and non-integrated capacity products facilitates the participants in the procedures and allows them to timely monitor the results from each procedure and control dynamically their actions.
The integrated yearly product for commercial storage procedure for gas year 2022 - 2023 will be carried out on the RBP on 14.04.2022 in two stages. The first stage starting at 11:00 am will allocate the integrated units, and the second starting at 2:00 pm will allocate the injection and withdrawal capacity in months within the integrated units allocated in the first stage.

The requirements towards the potential customers and the principles and capacity allocation methodology are in accordance with the Rules for use of Chiren UGS in force at the time of submitting the applications.
A right to take part in the procedure has every Bulgarian or foreign entity who has signed and effective Contract for access and transport to Bulgartransgaz EAD gas transmission network and Contract for natural gas purchase and sale for balancing.
To take part in the procedure, every potential participant must submit a financial security in accordance with the requirements of item 4.4 of the Rules for use of Chiren UGS.
The procedures allocating non-integrated monthly and preliminary daily products in Chiren UGS for commercial storage in May of gas year 2022-2023 will be carried out on 21.04.2022 and 28.04.2022 accordingly.
Information on the procedure allocating yearly integrated capacity units for storage in Chiren UGS and the next procedures allocating the available non-integrated capacity products will be published in the RBP calendar as well.
Bulgartransgaz EAD together with RBP organises a training and participation in test non-binding procedures regarding the offered capacity products. The training will be on 07.04.2022 in two sessions – at 11 am - a presentation and a training, at 2 pm - test non-binding procedures. A condition for the participation in the test non-binding procedures is a registered RBP access.
Applications on the participation in the training and the test procedures on RBP shall be accepted electronically sent to bkaranov@bulgartransgaz.bg by 12:00 noon on 06.04.2022.
